Helping Mr. Ashok Pandit of Rautahat

Ashok Pandit, from Chandrapur-10 in Rautahat, lost the lower parts of both his arms in an accident eight years ago. Despite losing both hands, he bends his back and using his elbows steers his bicycle to travel 21 km to the Bholantar forest to collect firewood. He sells the firewood in the nearby Balchanpur market for 500 to 700 rupees.
VG Foundation learned about Mr. Ashok Pandit's story through Kantipur News. Inspired by his resilience, we supported him and his family by providing a new bicycle, a year's worth of stationery for his four children, and food supplies for his whole family.
