Two Years, Twice the Impact: Envision Education & VG Foundation Bridging the Digital Divide

09 April 2025
“We live in the age of technology. Without technology, education cannot be fostered. For that reason, computer education is a must” - Narad Prasad Bhandari, President of the AUM School Management Committee.

The silent hum of 25 computer screens flickering to life filled the room—a sound that marked more than just the opening of AUM School's new lab, but the awakening of possibilities. In that electric moment, months of planning instantly became tangible: not just monitors and keyboards, but gateways to futures previously unimaginable.

This milestone represented the next chapter in Envision’s and mission. None of this would have been possible without like-minded collaboration partners like VG Foundation, whose dedication has guided us to these schools. A special gratitude also goes to Rahul Shrestha and Kunal Thapa from VG Foundation, whose strategic insights and on-ground support over the past two years helped turn our vision into reality.

After our 2024 success bringing digital labs to Koseli School and Life Vision Academy, the 2025 expansion to AUM and Chandi Devi Schools wasn't merely repetition—it was revolution. "Last year we proved what’s possible," reflected Envision’s co-founder Shreyas Sharma, watching the first students tentatively touch their keyboards. "This year we set in motion the transformative."

The evidence of that transformation came when we returned to Life Vision Academy. Passing through the same vibrant gates they first entered a year prior, they encountered a different world: where once stood a room of uncertain beginners now sat confident digital scholars. “Seeing how the computers made the students at LVA blossom gave us confidence that we can have an even greater impact with each lab we set up, each computer we turn on, and each student’s path we inspire,” shared Envision team lead Amy Wang. Energized after witnessing the curiosity and craft sparked at LVA, the Envision team set out to their next lab.

Just past the dust-clouded brick quarries and tucked in the jagged mountains of Dukuchhap lies Chandi Devi school, a swatch of yellow brick against the clay-covered landscape. Here, the Envision team began building yet another bridge across the digital divide. An afternoon of setting up computers and monitors, rearranging benches, and even lifting desks in through the window transformed the simple room into a technology lab with smart board and all, the neat rows of screens washing the room with a blue glow as if from another world.

Our fourth lab, perched on a small peak in Budhanilkantha, was established at AUM School. Even as the equipment was being unboxed, students gathered eagerly outside the classroom, patiently waiting for their turn at the computers. The school’s student captains, thrilled by the chance to shape their classmates’ learning experience, jumped in to help set up the workstations. Within hours, what was once an empty room had transformed into a buzzing hub of possibilities. As soon as each lab was ready, students poured in, and the rooms were filled with the excited chatter of the eager students and the clicking of keys. From grades three to eight, the students’ eyes lit up when they first heard the startup hum of the computers—as the day went on, their fingers became more attuned to the rhythm of the digital world as they slowly discovered how to click, drag, and drop. The students delighted in games for practicing typing, created their own Microsoft paint masterpieces, researched their dream careers to present as projects on Google Docs and Slides, and even gained educational resources like Khan Academy. The students’ clear voices as they proudly presented their digital work and the bright smiles accompanying their exit high-fives made clear that technological literacy would be central to their learning journey for years to come.

Driven by a sense of care and responsibility to give their students a holistic education, the dedicated teachers at both schools were just as glad to incorporate technology into their lessons as a facilitator of knowledge.
“With support like yours, we are definitely going to remain confident and motivated in our journey towards the world of technology,” remarked Ms. Sumitra Lama, Principal of AUM School.

As the sun sets over AUM and Chandi Devi Schools, the glow from fifty screens still illuminates eager faces through the windows. Inside, the future isn't being offloaded—it's being built, line by line, click by click, dream by dream.
