Inspirational Journey: Satyanarayan — A Laborer Now Supported to Become a Doctor

02 February 2026

At just 21 years old, Satyanarayan Safi, a resident of Bariyarpattti Rural Municipality-2, Siripur village in Siraha, has achieved a remarkable milestone — securing a full MBBS scholarship after years of hardship and relentless effort. Originally from a family struggling with poverty, Satyanarayan balanced daily wage labor — carrying bricks, sand, and cement for construction work — with his dream of entering the medical profession.

Despite failing the medical entrance exam on his first attempt and exhausting a small loan taken for exam preparation, he returned home and worked hard, supporting his family while continuing his studies. On his second attempt, his determination paid off when he successfully earned a full MBBS scholarship to pursue medical education

Although his college fees are covered by the scholarship, he still needed money for college books, uniform, and other basic study materials where his family could not afford these costs.

In response to this need, VG Foundation stepped in and provided NPR 40,000 to help Satyanarayan purchase essential college textbooks and a uniform for his upcoming first year of MBBS study. He expressed his feelings saying “this support from VG Foundation has reduced his worries and helped him feel confident and motivated to start his medical studies.”
