VGF is a private operating foundation that invests in necessary and effective areas of sustainability
transition in Nepal.

VGF is a private operating charity that catalyzes sustainability transition in Nepal via corporate, humanitarian and governance instruments.

Our Mission

is to catalyze sustainability transitions via corporate, humanitarian and governance instruments. We do so by partnering with veteran technical organizations that have a deep understanding of the Nepali landscape and context of sustainability and by leveraging existing institutional frameworks.

Our Transition
Legacy

VG Foundation’s transition aligns to the evolving definition of development. Since the Brundtland Commission, the international humanitarian community has expanded its commitment of protection to the generations after us. Since, this commitment has trickled down to the incentives of humanitarian endeavors all over the world. Similarly, our definition of philanthropy has also evolved from charitable transactional development to rights and equity-based transformational development.

While there is certainly a need and effective measures of transactional actions in areas such as disaster relief and upliftment of communities; beyond ground- level initiatives, it is imperative that we engage major stakeholders such as the private and public sector in the campaign for transitioning into sustainability.

Thus, VG Foundation believes in investing in transformational and institutional change for sustainability. Our work includes but is not limited to afforestation, corporate sustainability transition and equitable education.
